Roter Loewe-Model ship
This frigate was constructed in Holland in 1597, and it is one of the few ships for which blueprints of the original shipyard were kept. The exterior appearance of this model has been reconstructed using paintings from the original time period. Initially baptized as the "Guldener Loewe", when it was bought by the Koenigsberg City, the ship was later renamed "Roter Loewe".
This ship functioned as the Admiral Ship, under the command of Peter Hinsse Captain, and in 1608 under the command of Captain Johan Fett the ship was sold with a wood cargo in October at the port of Lisbon.
The ship's model was made paying special attention in regards to the use of materials, different wood essences, such as, mahogany, walnut, cherry wood, Turkish apple tree (yellow wood),also with the special attention given to the exact details and the construction techniques.
This frigate model could enter any C4 class contest (Model display cabinets) for a gold medal.
Over 600 hours of labour were required to complete this model. It may be purchased with the sails deployed or retracted.
